Become a Dementia Friend Session (In-Person) – Hosted by Hendricks County Senior Center at Avon Washington Township Public Library

Become a Dementia Friend sessions are a brief, but impactful way of learning about dementia, understanding and appreciating the perspective of someone living with dementia. Session attendees will learn effective ways to communicate and interact with those living with the condition and their care partners. Attendees will also learn actions they can take to advance the Dementia Friends Indiana movement and mission of creating better understanding and awareness of dementia, reducing the associated stigma, and creating more welcoming and safe community environments for those living with dementia. Upon completion of the information session, attendees with be registered as a Dementia Friend in Indiana. Please contact the event organizer with any questions.
